Day 1

Negombo → Galle

Pick-up from Negombo. Coastal drive south on the Galle Road. First night parked just outside the 17th-century fort walls — sunset on the ramparts. Hamilton Canal Boat Ride: Cruise along the historic 19th-century Dutch-era waterway flanked by mangroves and local village life. Lelama Fish Market: Experience the energetic morning auction where local fishermen bring in their daily catch. Beachfront Sunset Dining: Park up and unwind at a beachside café while enjoying fresh seafood and views over the Laccadive Sea.

Day 2

Galle Fort & Unawatuna

Full morning exploring the Dutch fort: lighthouse, ramparts, lace-makers, the lighthouse cafe. Lunch in the old town. Afternoon swim at Unawatuna. Rampart Walk at Sunset: Stroll along the stone walls from the Galle Fort Clock Tower down to the iconic Galle Lighthouse while watching local cliff-divers. Boutique & Café Hopping: Explore art galleries, jewelry shops, historic museums, and restored Dutch-colonial cafes tucked into narrow alleyways. Architectural Photography: Capture stunning shots of ancient churches, white-washed colonial villas, and rustling palm trees against ocean backdrops. Jungle Beach Discovery: Hike through a short coastal forest trail to reach a secluded, rugged cove ideal for quiet swimming.

Day 3

Mirissa & Weligama surf

Stilt fishermen at Koggala. Optional surf lesson at Weligama (€25 add-on, gear provided). Whale-watch boat from Mirissa Nov–Apr. Park beachside. Whale & Dolphin Watching Safari: Board an early morning boat excursion to spot blue whales, sperm whales, and pods of playful dolphins cruising past the deep continental shelf. Coconut Tree Hill: Walk out to this famous Instagram-spot lined with towering palms for sweeping ocean views. Surfing & Beach Relaxation: Catch gentle waves at Mirissa's beginner-friendly surf spots or lounge under beach umbrellas with fresh king coconut water.

Day 4

Yala safari

Pre-dawn jeep into Yala — best leopard density in Asia. Elephants, sloth bears, peacocks. Afternoon at the spectacular Dondra lighthouse — southernmost point of Sri Lanka. Jeep Safari Game Drives: Swap your motorhome for a 4x4 safari tracker to explore sweeping grasslands, scrub forests, and watering holes. Wildlife Tracking: Spot Sri Lankan leopards (one of the highest densities in the world), wild elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and hundreds of exotic bird species. Scenic Coastal Border: Experience the unique sight of national park terrain colliding directly with sandy ocean beaches.

Day 5

Tangalle → Negombo

Turtle Nesting Observation: Visit protected nesting beaches (like Rekawa) at night to watch endangered sea turtles come ashore to lay eggs. Mangrove Kayaking: Paddle through the peaceful waterways of the nearby lagoons to observe monitor lizards, kingfishers, and local fishermen. Relaxed Motorhome Parking: Enjoy quieter, less commercialized coastal spaces to park up, relax, and listen to the crashing waves.
